Intermediate School

Years 7 & 8 (Intermediate Years)

intermediatecamp-2009While many students start Rangi in Year 9, we have a very popular Intermediate School. Our Year 7 & 8 students have the advantage of their own school area, and the benefit of access to the specialist facilities of the secondary school.

Intermediate class sizes are small to ensure that each girl receives individual support through these important learning years.

Intermediate School students are part of the Rangi student community and are included in school-wide events, activities and committees throughout the year.

Intermediate School students focus on creative, critical and analytical thinking. In line with the international emphasis on the teaching of thinking, this is an area of focus at Rangi. Research shows that teaching thinking enhances students’ self-awareness, and improves and strengthens their academic performance and intellectual abilities generally, developing crucial lifetime competencies.

A student can be helped to optimise her unique abilities in a number of ways including extra tuition, acceleration, extension and enrichment.

The Intermediate School takes part in science fairs, competitions, music festivals, interschool sports and drama productions. We encourage girls to participate in many of the numerous sporting, clubs, musical and cultural activities and events enjoyed by the wider school.
